The ‘initial’ purpose of this website is to support the content outlined in the Fishing in Wilcannia: A Stage 1 Chance and Data Program document. This document is the second assessment task for the EDMA505 Mathematics Curriculum 2 unit and it can be retrieved from the Resources section of this website.
The ‘eventual’ purpose of this website would be to provide a visual representation of the ‘learning’ undertaken each day. Images taken on a digital camera during class time would be uploaded (preferably by students, although this would need to be modelled) to the website each day. The primary aim of this website is to provide students with a ‘visual reminder’ of their learning.
I believe that the website will also provide the students with a greater sense of ownership of their learning, and will give the students the opportunity to share their learning with parents, caregivers and the community (if access to a computer with internet access is available).
